About
Opening minds, creating understanding, connecting with the resources to thrive
Mental Wealth UK is a student body committed to promoting positive wellbeing on university campuses. It is driven by hundreds of students around the UK, each of whom are advocates for change. It is the only national student-led group dedicated to promoting the mental health and wellbeing of university students.
Mental Wealth UK was launched in 2010, growing out of the success of a student-led mental health and wellbeing group at the University of Leeds. Since it's launch, Mental Wealth UK has advised dozens of universities, run training days, supported the growth of twelve student societies, provided seed-funding for 10 campus projects, and influenced over 80 colleges and universities through campaigns and talks. It has heen supported by, and worked with, many national organisations such as NUS, Time to Change, Mind, Action for Happiness, Rethink, the Charlie Waller Trust, the Matthew Elvidge Trust, Papyrus, and HEFCE. It was recognised with an Unltd Award for Social Entrepreneurship in 2010.
Mental Wealth UK believes that we can all do things to promote the wellbeing of ourselves and others. By inspiring and supporting student-led projects, it aims to tackle barriers to wellbeing on university campuses, and help a generation of young people access the psychological resources to thrive.
