Announcing the 2011 Matthew Elvidge Award - recognising Mental Wealth initiatives

It has been a remarkable year for student-led mental health and wellbeing campaigning. Dozens of events and campaigns have been held, more and more student-led groups are being launched, and for the first time ever, the NUS Student of the Year award has gone to a mental health campaigner. In January 2012 we will be looking back on the year that has been and recognising a significant contribution by a student or group. The winner will be awarded £400 for future mental health campaigning. The award has been sponsored by The Matthew Elvidge Trust, and will be announced at a Mental Wealth Evening on 28th January.

Students are invited to email a report from their year to home[at]mentalwealthuk.com by January 10th 2012. If you'd like to nominate a student or group, please send a letter of recommendation to the same address. (A template will be available in December.) Please note: groups must be affiliated with Mental Wealth UK to be considered.

The Mental Wealth Evening on January 28 is being held to celebrate the year, and introduce new plans for 2012. For further information about the event, contact Edward Pinkney at e.pinkney[at]mentalwealthuk.com or 07904787969.
